Story
Hello, I am Briony, a disabled woman living with Cerebral Palsy, which has impacted both my legs and my right arm. Participating in physical events to raise funds for causes dear to my heart has always been a monumental challenge, often bordering on impossibility.
Since 2019, I have embraced virtual challenges as a way to overcome these barriers. Through sheer determination, I have conquered ten separate challenges, covering a total distance of two hundred and twenty-two miles.
For my next endeavour, I plan to set my own virtual challenge in support for Poppy Scotland. This monumental feat will start at Stirling Castle and end at Glasgow’s Cenotaph using my trusted Motomed exercise bike. This virtual challenge is 31.6 miles, with an estimated four to five hours of nonstop cycling for me. I am contemplating undertaking this challenge on Saturday, 22 June, leading up to Armed Forces Day, as a symbolic gesture of solidarity with the Armed Forces Community.
This challenge will not only test my mental fortitude but will also push my boundaries as I navigate the complexities of Cerebral Palsy.
I have chosen to embark on this inspiring journey to extend my support to Poppy Scotland, an organisation dedicated to raising awareness and vital funds for veterans and our esteemed Armed Forces.
Your support and any contributions made towards this cause will be truly appreciated. Together, let us make a positive impact and honour the bravery and sacrifice of our military heroes. #brionypoppychallenge
Thank you for joining me on this journey.
With gratitude,
Briony
