Raza's historic winter attempt to climb Khosar Gang mountain to support critically ill children at East Anglia's Children's Hospices

Raza Anjum is raising money for East Anglia's Children's Hospices

Mountain climbing expedition

We care for children & young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambs, Essex, Norfolk & Suffolk and support their families. This can be at home, in hospital or at one of three hospices at Milton, The Treehouse and The Nook. We rely on voluntary donations for the majority of our income.

Story

This winter, I will step into one of the harshest mountain environments on Earth - attempting the first British winter ascent of 6,000m Khosar Gang mountain to raise funds for East Anglia's Children's Hospices.

About the challenge

I will be facing temperatures that fall below –25°C, fierce winds, deep snow, and remote high-altitude terrain - every step a test of endurance and skill. This expedition is not just a personal challenge, it's a chance to make a real difference for children and families supported by East Anglia Children's Hospices. Your support will turn every metre climbed into care, comfort, and hope.

Khosar Gang is located in the remote and isolated Karakoram mountains in the western Himalayas, which is home to some of the world's tallest mountains. At over 6,000 metres, thin air and extreme altitude make every movement physically demanding. Winter conditions add freezing temperatures, violent winds, and heavy snowfall. Every step and every decision will require careful planning and unwavering focus.

Why I'm doing this

While my challenge will be measured in metres climbed and hours spent above the clouds, the real purpose is far greater.

Each Anglia Children's Hospices (EACH) provide specialist care and support to children with life-threating conditions and their families, offering comfort, dignity, and joy during life's most difficult moments.

By undertaking this challenging expedition, I hope to raise awareness and funds to help them continue their vital work.

How your support helps

No contribution is too small. Every donation turns each step I take in freezing conditions into something meaningful for families who need it most. All donations on this platform are linked directly to the official Each Anglia Children's Hospices charity and go straight to them.

Join me on this journey

As I face deep snow, high winds, and sub-zero temperatures, I will be carrying the knowledge that this expedition has purpose beyond personal ambition. If successful, it will be a British first - but the real achievement will be the difference we make together.

Please donate and share this page to help me turn this extreme challenge into hope and support for East Anglia's Children's Hospices.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
