fundraiser for British-Ukrainian Aid

British - Ukrainian Aid is raising money for British-Ukrainian Aid
“2026 English OPEN Pickleball Tournament”

on 11 August 2026

British-Ukrainian Aid supports people in any part of the world who are the victims of war or natural disaster, trouble, or catastrophe in particular by the supply of medical aid to such persons and organisations caring for them.

Story

This August, a team from Ukraine will travel to the United Kingdom to participate in the English Open Pickleball Tournament, one of the world's largest international pickleball events.

For many members of the team, sport has become an important part of their rehabilitation journey following life-changing injuries. Recovery is not only about medical treatment—it is also about rebuilding confidence, strength, independence, and a sense of purpose.

Earlier this year, British-Ukrainian Aid, the UK-Ukrainian Initiative, Carmen, and Golden Time Talent joined forces to raise funds for specialised sports wheelchairs, giving the team the equipment needed to train and compete.

Now we need your help again.

We are launching a fundraiser to cover travel and accommodation costs so the team can take part in the English Open this August.

Sport is one of the most effective pathways to recovery after a life-changing injury, and pickleball has proven to be particularly accessible and inclusive. It helps participants stay active, reconnect with their communities, and regain confidence through competition and teamwork.

By supporting this fundraiser, you are helping make this important rehabilitation initiative possible and giving the team the opportunity to represent Ukraine on the international stage.

Together, we provided the wheelchairs. Now, let's help get the team to England.

Thank you for your support.
