Story
On 19th October 2025, I’ll be taking on the Yorkshire Ultra Marathon – my second marathon this year – with the aim of raising £500 for Carers Link Lancashire’s Young Carers Service.
This cause is deeply personal to me. I was once a young carer myself, looking after my grandma, so I understand the challenges, sacrifices, and responsibilities young carers face every single day. That’s why this charity holds such a dear place in my heart.
During my placement with Carers Link Lancashire – and now as a member of the team – I’ve had the privilege of working directly with young carers with some being as young as 6, supporting them as they care for loved ones, liaise with health services, and juggle their own education and wellbeing. I’ve seen first-hand how vital this service is. It gives young carers a safe space, emotional support, and opportunities to just be kids – to laugh, have fun, and feel valued.
This race will be tough, but nothing compared to the challenges young carers face daily. Every mile I run will be for them – and every donation, no matter how small, will help make a real difference.
If you can, please support me by donating and sharing this page. Together, we can make sure young carers get the recognition, care, and opportunities they deserve.
Thank you so much for your support – it truly means the world. 💛
