Story
Jaz, Stefan, Josh, Bo, Tom, and Ellie are running the London Marathon for Macmillan Cancer Support, in loving memory of Jaz’s mum, Suki Thompson.
Suki was a bright light who sadly lost her life to cancer at the age of 56 in 2023. We have been incredibly lucky to be given six charity places in the marathon for Macmillan on Sunday 26th April 2026 — and now it’s feeling real!
Macmillan meant the world to Suki. She served on the Board of Trustees for 10 years and, in the final few months of her life, raised over £150,000 for the charity. She would be absolutely delighted that Jazzy and some of her closest friends are running the London Marathon in her memory.
We would be so grateful for any donations to help us reach our target of £12,000.
Here’s how the team are currently feeling:
Jaz: “I am still in disbelief that I will actually be running a full marathon! Mumma will be laughing so hard! . I’ve started training and, although it’s so challenging, I really feel Mumma shining down, and could not wish to do it with better people!. I’m so grateful for everyone’s ongoing support — thank you!”
Stefan: “Fitting marathon training around time on court has involved very tired legs and very optimistic planning, but it couldn’t be for a better cause or a more special person ”
Josh: “Funnily enough, I have never been athletic (plot twist of the century), so when Jaz rang me up and said “16 weeks till Mara”, well, my heart started sprinting! But somewhere between a hoka to the chest and sheer terror, there is real excitement to be a part of something so exceptional and for an even more exceptional cause. Truth be told, the only person who could ever get me to run a marathon is our dear Sukes!”
Bo: “Feeling slightly terrified, but also very excited to be pushing myself to run for such a wonderful cause, as a tribute to a truly remarkable woman.”
Ellie: “I feel very lucky to get to share this experience with Jazzy, Stefan, Josh, Bo and my brother, Tom- running for such an important cause and in memory of amazing Suki”
