Story
This year marks Daddys 10th anniversary. The Great North Run takes place 10 days after that 10th anniversary and 10 years since I walked the Great Wall of China for the Alzheimers Society. I'm not sure about anyone else but I'm taking that as a sign that this is what I'm supposed to do.
Watching Daddy's battle with dementia changed us all. We knew of it before Daddy, we had heard of it but we never understood it. Daddy's diagnosis was a crash course in learning about dementia and one we wish no one else had to learn. Unfortunately for our family we are now living through another diagnosis of Alzheimers with our wee Step Daddy. So many similarities between the two but also so very different with two different forms of dementia.
Every penny raised goes towards trying to find a cure, trying to prevent any more families from fighting this battle, working towards putting an end to the 'Long Goodbye'

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future.
