Story
The Bronzegate team are taking part in a marathon walk (26.2miles) down the Thames path this September to raise money for our fantastic charity partner, the Purple Community Fund. We will be covering a total combined distance of over 288 miles with 11 walkers taking part on the day with a morning start and late afternoon finish. This will be a real challenge for all involved as we expect to be walking for around 9 hours straight to complete the challenge!
Purple Community Fund, founded by Jane Walker MBE, who is also referred to as 'The Angel of the Dump', is a grass roots UK registered charity, and runs highly effective poverty reduction programs for disenfranchised communities in some of the worst slums in Manila through a holistic approach, providing integrated services in education, health and nutrition, social welfare and livelihood and skills training.
Purple Community Fund passionately believes in providing sustainable opportunities so that its beneficiaries can help themselves and their families out of poverty. We work closely with children and families to bring the changes that they want to see in their lives.
