Story
Group of us are biking over 70 miles from Sheffield Grosvenor House to Hull HSBC branch on Tuesday 9th of September in aid of Master Cutlers Challenge! This is a journey that travels between our two main offices as part of our South Yorkshire and Humber patch.
Although 70 Miles on a Bike may not be a long way for serious cyclists, I can confirm that we are not serious cyclists and this is going to be a big effort with some no doubt very sore muscles in the days following the event! Please support us in this great cause!
The Master Cutler's Challenge is back for 2025! https://sheffieldhospitalscharity.org.uk/master-cutler
Each year a new Master Cutler becomes the head of the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire. The Master Cutler sets a challenge which has become one of the largest fundraising events in the region, raising an incredible amount for local causes.
Companies, organisations and individuals who sign up to the Master Cutler’s challenge are given £50 as a starter seed fund. They are challenged to grow this into a bigger amount of money which is in turn donated to the Master’s nominated charity. This year’s Master Cutler Phil Rodrigo has chosen Sheffield Hospitals Charity as a beneficiary of the challenge to fund projects that will have significant impact through a number of dementia care initiatives.
We are fundraising for the following initiatives:
1. Helping people living with dementia to stay independent
2. Funding specialist dementia training
3. Improving hospital spaces and activities
