Story
We’re running the Cardiff Half Marathon 2026 and have chosen to support Cardiff & Vale Health Charity, our local NHS Charity.
At the beginning of this year, mine and Tom's Dad, Ian, had a fall and suffered a brain injury. He then was based in the Heath Hospital for 2 months whilst the wonderful NHS staff of the Cardiff & Vale cared for him before moving to Llandough Hospital where he’s receiving ongoing incredible care. Thanks to the fantastic staff at these hospitals, in addition to the paramedics and first responders on the day, our Dad is recovering day by day to his old self. We are so grateful to every one of the staff who played a role in this, and supporting us too along the way. So, we want to show our support in fundraising for the Cardiff & Vale Health Charity by the two of us and our partners, Neve and Tom, running the Cardiff Half Marathon.
Why this matters? Cardiff & Vale Health Charity is the official charity of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. It supports all wards, departments, hospitals, community services, and research areas throughout Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. Every donation helps improve facilities, fund vital projects, and provide the best possible care.
By sponsoring our run, you’re not just cheering us on, you’re also helping to make healthcare better for thousands of people across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. Together, we can Make It Better!
