Story

Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.

A bit of history

The Club Triumph Round Britain Reliability Run was first devised and run in 1966 and since then there has been run 27 times. The event consists of driving 2,000 miles around the UK using an old Triumph motor car and visiting pre-arranged Controls from Knebworth to John O'Groats to Lands End and back to Knebworth in 2 days.

Since the event started to support UK Charities over £800,000 has been successfully raised, last time (2021) the event raised £102K for the MNDA.

Our Team and this years event

Andy and I entered the RBRR for the first time in 2018 in my Triumph Stag "Ursula". The whole experience was a real eye opener of what its like to set off with the intention of driving 2,000 miles in 48 hours using a car that is over 45 years old. After driving through the night from Knebworth, the sight of the sun rising as we thundered past the oil rigs along the east coastline of the far north of Scotland as we approached John O'Groats for breakfast on the Saturday morning is a memory still fresh in both our minds. Unfortunately we had to withdraw from the 2018 event due to an over-fueling issue on the Saturday night whilst on our way back south from Scotland. However, we learnt a lot from the experience.

We entered the next RBBR in 2021, again using Ursula and this time we successfully completed the event. The feeling of tired satisfaction as we arrived back at Knebworth on the Sunday evening is one which will remain with us for the rest of our lives It gave us extra confidence in both ourselves as a team and in Ursula that resulted in us entering and completing the 10 Countries event in 2022, but that is a another story!

So, having successfully completed the event once, we are planning on doing it again! We have a slight change in our team this time as Ursula has stepped aside for MEF, Andy's Red Stag to join the fun. Andy has spent the last 6 months project managing work on MEF to ensure that all is good to go for this years RBRR.

With 125 Triumphs booked to take part the hills will be reverberating to the sound of V8's and Straight 6's over that weekend!

The event this year will be raising much needed funds for the Huntington's Disease Association (HDA), and Andy and I are hoping to raise over £1500 towards the events total target of £75,000

By sponsoring us whilst we take part in this event you are helping the HDA to support people living with Huntington's disease in England and Wales. Please, please please sponsoring us on our daft adventure.

We will be covering our teams entry fee and the fuel costs (gulp) ourselves so any money you kindly donate all goes to HDA.
