BRUFC Walk for Wooden Spoon Staffordshire · 1 July 2023

Wooden Spoon is the children’s charity of rugby. Our vision is that through the power of rugby every child and young person across the UK & Ireland, no matter what their background has access to the same opportunities.

Story

Burntwood RUFC are celebrating our 50th anniversary by holding a Charity Walk visiting the 3 clubs helped us become a club, 50 years ago!

Starting at Walsall RFC, we will walk to Tamworth RFC, Lichfield RFC and finally back home to Burntwood Rugby Club covering approximately 30 miles in total!

Made up of walkers, runners and cyclists we are hoping to raise £500 for the Wooden Spoon Charity - Staffordshire who we have partnered with for our 50th season.

Wooden Spoon is the children’s charity of rugby, funding life-changing projects across the UK and Ireland to support children and young people with disabilities or facing disadvantage.

Research shows that 1 in 10 children in the UK and Ireland have a disability and there are 3.5 million children in the UK living in poverty. These numbers continue to rise and more and more children need our help.

Our vision is that through the power of rugby, every child and young person has access to the same opportunities.
