Story
Last year 48 crew members from 20 B&P pubs up and down the country, and a good showing from the Central Support Team, attempted to scale Snowdon 3 times in a day. Despite getting to within a couple of hundred metres of top, the team was beaten back by dreadful weather conditions meaning it wasn't safe to summit. So this year, as for many it’s a scratch that still needs itching, we thought we’d try it again in a sunnier month (and hope it’s not too sunny). It’s the highest mountain in England and Wales and we again intend to climb it 3 times in one day. The Snowdon ‘6 Challenge’ refers to taking on the 6 main routes up and down the mountain.
3 summits, 24 miles and over 9000ft of ascent.
We have decided to ask for sponsorship to encourage us on our way, and Cardiac Risk in the Young (C.R.Y.) is one of the charities we are supporting.
Last year we sadly lost our much-loved Chef and friend Tizz to an undetected heart complaint. C-R-Y is a charity that is trying to prevent young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research, supporting affected families along the way.
Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. Cardiac Risk In the Young aim to save young lives and to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. They do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.
Thank you for your support.
