24hr Wild Swim Relay: Shepperton 2025 · 7 June 2025 to 8 June 2025 ·

The challenge is simple. Gather a team of up to 8 swimmers and swim for an hour each, for 24 hours. It really doesn’t matter what your ability is. It’s not a race, no one is being timed or tracked. You swim as much as you want, as fast as you want.

Story

Complete!! Event report -

At noon on Saturday 7th the team started the 24hr open water relay swim along with approximately 70 others teams. Each hour a swimmer completed laps in Shepperton Lake before handing over to the next person. The rain continued all afternoon and into the night with an orange moon finally breaking through just after midnight and a very welcome sun rising just before 5:00am.

The team estimate they covered a distance over 50km yet far more impressive were the many and varied stories behind each swimmer taking on this challenge. The event raises money and awareness for Level Water, a charity that trains swimming teachers and funds lessons for children with disabilities in the hope they discover that water and swimming can be a great leveller, confidence builder and gives an opportunity for freedom of movement. Everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim and fall in love with the water. This is just one story of many that struck a chord this weekend...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DUnnjxpLQo

A phenomenal event that was friendly, safe, enjoyable and a little crazy. Well done to everyone at Level Water for running such a super set up. When is the next one???

***

Having supported Level Water with our Solent Swim we are now excited to link up with them again for a 24 hour relay open water swim at Shepperton Lake on June 7th and 8th.

Swimming is like nothing else. The skills you develop, the confidence you build and the joys you feel are all universal. Yet access to swimming in the UK is not.

Level Water use the power of swimming to improve lives for children with disabilities. They train teachers and help with funding to offer high quality lessons to children with disabilities.

Everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim and fall in love with the water. This is just one story of many that struck a chord this weekend...
