Story
In 2026, The True Athlete Project (TAP) will be represented by a team of inspiring runners taking on the TCS Sydney Marathon to help transform sport into a force for good.
Each runner has their own personal reason for stepping up to the start line. For me, this journey is deeply rooted in recovery, growth, and the power of mindfulness.
Mindfulness and meditation have been essential to my life — not just as practices, but as a foundation for how I live, train, and connect with others. Through recovery, I found that real strength isn’t just physical — it’s the ability to sit with discomfort, to respond instead of react, and to move forward with clarity and compassion.
That path led me to become a mindfulness meditation teacher through the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP), a run coach certified by the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA), a volunteer assistant coach and board member with Strides in Recovery, and a meeting leader and board director with Recovery Dharma Global. Today, I’m grateful to support others in their journeys — whether that’s through meditation, coaching, or simply showing up alongside them.
Running, especially at the distances I train for, is as much a mental and emotional practice as it is a physical one. Mindfulness allows me to stay present through the highs and lows, to manage pain and fatigue, and to reconnect with purpose when things get hard. It transforms running from a performance-driven activity into a practice of awareness, resilience, and compassion.
As part of this journey, I’ll be taking on my first-ever 100-mile race — the San Diego 100.
To make it meaningful beyond the miles, I’m inviting you to be part of it.
I’m asking for $1 per mile — a simple way to support both the challenge and the cause. Whether it’s $50, $100, or more to honor finishing the full 100 miles, every contribution directly supports TAP’s mission.
Because this isn’t just about running 100 miles.
It’s about what those miles represent — resilience, recovery, and the possibility of transformation.
This is exactly why TAP’s mission resonates so deeply with me.
TAP is working to build a more compassionate world through sport — bringing mindfulness, mental health support, and mentorship to athletes at every level. Their programs help young athletes develop not just as competitors, but as whole human beings.
All funds raised will help TAP expand its programs, train coaches, provide mentoring, and deliver evidence-based wellbeing practices to communities around the world.
Your support helps sport reach its full potential — nurturing athletes, strengthening communities, and creating a more compassionate world.
