Story
In November 2026 we're taking on an unforgettable challenge: a 4 day hike across the Sahara Desert – all in support of Wigan and Leigh Hospice.
Jordan's Story:
I am doing this challenge to raise money for Wigan and Leigh hospice, the commitment, hard work, respect and admiration for everyone here is why we are doing this. It’s now our time to put the hard work in and raise as much as we can so that the hospice can provide and furthermore carry on their amazing work for everyone at the hospice in our community.
With having lost my amazing mum and grandad to cancer there are so many families out there going through this and knowing the hospice can create a loving and caring environment for somebody else’s family member or friend is why I am doing this challenge.
Bryony's Story:
As most of you know, I recently lost my beautiful little nanna after she battled a long fight with secondary breast cancer. What you probably don’t know is that I also lost my beloved nanna Thomson to pancreatic cancer in 2013. They both spent the final stages of their life at the extraordinary organisation that is Wigan and Leigh Hospice.
The hospice took amazing care of them (and us), giving them the tranquil surroundings, medical and physical care for them to die without pain and with dignity – something that was very important to them both.
In order to provide the compassionate care and support, the hospice relies solely on donations. This is why I have decided to complete this challenge so that other people can receive the same wonderful care that both my nanna’s did.
Whilst the challenge will give me something to focus on, I desperately want to be able to give something back to the Hospice. I know it will be tough but Ill do it because its so very close to my heart.
We'd be eternally grateful if you could see it in your heart to dig deep and donate a few ££
