BSC Fundraiser for The Hummingbird Centre

Rhys Jenkins is raising money for The Hummingbird Centre

24-Hour Cardio Challenge · 16 May 2025

The Hummingbird Centre provides Complementary Therapy, Counselling support and Friendship for people affected by cancer in the Bicester and surrounding areas. Please donate to support our cause. Sadly there are many people affected by cancer, the growing town of Bicester in Oxfordshire has, until now, had no local place for guests and their families to meet, that is why we formed The Hummingbird Centre. We offer a friendly and welcoming centre, somewhere for people to relax, meet others in a similar situation, use the various complementary therapy treatments available or simply to have a break and a cup of tea. Counselling support and guidance is available together with arts and craft activities and much more. We provide the opportunity to escape daily life pressures, talk to people who can help and support practically and emotionally. As with many charities we are reliant on the goodwill of volunteers and supporters . Please help us raise funds for this extremely worthwhile centre, all donations are very gratefully received and wisely spent to provide the support to our guests and their loved ones, helping them cope and live well.

Story

We’re raising money for Graham Darby and The Hummingbird Centre, a local cancer support centre that has been an incredible source of care and comfort for Graham and many others facing similar battles.

Graham Darby is a beloved friend, partner, and member of our community who has been courageously fighting cancer. Through it all, The Hummingbird Centre has provided him with vital support, giving him a safe space to access services, connect with others, and find strength in the most challenging moments.

On May 15th-16th, we’re taking on a challenge that will push us to our absolute limits—a 24-hour Assault Bike challenge. Over the course of a full day and night, we’ll be alternating turns on the bike, each riding for 12 grueling hours. It’s going to be brutal, both physically and mentally, but we’re doing it for a cause that means everything to us.

The Hummingbird Centre does incredible work for people living with cancer, offering counselling, holistic therapies, support groups, and a much-needed sense of community. They rely on donations to continue their mission, ensuring that no one has to face cancer alone.
