This year's British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) meeting is taking place at ACC Liverpool. Days at the event can take their toll and we invite you to take a leisurely stroll, a brisk walk or get your blood running before the intense day starts.

The run will start at the bottom of the Wheel of Liverpool and will take you South along the river. The tide is supposed to be out, so luckily for us, no swimming will be involved.

Wednesday 21 June, 7am start.

About Feeding Liverpool

This year we are delighted to raise funds for a wonderful local charity, Feeding Liverpool. In Liverpool 1 in 3 adults is food insecure, this means they are worrying about how they will feed their family that week, reducing the quality and quantity of food they eat, skipping meals or at times going hungry.

Your donation will enable Feeding Liverpool to continue to:

• Boost foodbank parcels with fresh fruit and vegetables.

• Bring fresh produce into the heart of communities via the Queen of Greens mobile greengrocer.

• Promote The Healthy Start Scheme to pregnant women and families with young children to improve their uptake of fruit, vegetables and vitamins.

• Train local residents to deliver community cooking courses.

• Tell the stories of people experiencing food insecurity and campaign against the root causes of poverty.

About the BSG

The British Society of Gastroenterology is an organisation focused on the promotion of gastroenterology and hepatology within the UK. It has over three and a half thousand members drawn from the ranks of physicians, surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, scientists, nurses, dietitians, and others interested in the field.

This fun run is part of the BSG 2023 Annual Meeting that is taking place at ACC Liverpool from 19-22 June. The event will showcase the latest clinical and educational developments within the speciality and will boast an impressive range of national and international speakers as well as provide more opportunities for attendees to network, share knowledge and be inspired.
