BSP running for STAND

The BSP is raising money for STAND

BSP Jazz Night and - Chatou 10km raising money for Stand · 10 May 2026

The World Health Organisation states that just 1 in 10 people with physical disabilities in the developing world have access to assistive technology. Legs4Africa addresses part of this deficit by providing equipment to societies where such equipment is either unavailable, or prohibitively expensive.

Story

Students, staff and parents of The British School of Paris will be doing different events over the next few months to raise money for Stand. The first event is the whole school jazz concert on 29th April (we raised just over 1000 euros - thank you so much to everyone for donating so generously during a wonderful evening), followed by the Chatou to St Germain 10km run on 10th May where 25 members of the BSP community will be taking part.

Ms Wall and Ms Baker are also running the Pegasus half-marathon, in Normandy, for Stand on 6th June.

Plese donate here to support anyone who is running.

STAND - a charity that rehabilitates prostheticlimbs for use in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Over the years, STAND has helped thousands of people with limb differences walk again. Did you know that 90% of amputees globally do not have access to assistive devices? That figure rises to 97% in low-income countries - meaning that there are over 1.5 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa who don’t have access to prosthetic limbs and care. That is why the BSP community has pledged to raise, over the next year, 20,000 euros to fund the running of a new rural rehabilitation center in The Gambia.

We believe every person deserves access to high-quality prosthetic limbs and care that allows children to access education and parents to support their families by returning to work.

Thank you for your suport
