Craig's fundraiser for SANDS

Multiple Ultra Marathons
This year, I’m taking on the monumental challenge of running multiple ultra marathons to support SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society). Every step I take will be for the babies who never got to take theirs and for the families who must navigate life with a hole that can never truly be filled.
This cause is deeply personal to me. Together, Laura and I have felt the heartbreak of neonatal death firsthand, and I’ve witnessed the profound devastation it has brought to family and friends who’ve experienced this tragic loss.
I’m running in memory of my Dad, who was not just an incredible father but also a passionate runner and tireless fundraiser. He spent his life helping others, showing me that strength and kindness can change lives. I want to honour his legacy by giving everything I have to this challenge. I know he would be cheering me on, proud to see me use my love for running to make a difference like he did.
I’m also running for the friends and family who have lived through the unbearable pain of losing a baby. Their resilience in the face of such overwhelming grief inspires me. This challenge is for them—and for every family whose world has been turned upside down by such loss.
I’ll be running multiple ultra marathons, with races currently scheduled below—and likely more to be added to the list:
• Hateful 8
• Epona 100
• EDDUM
• Sirona 100
These races will push me to my absolute limits—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Running multiple ultras in one year will be grueling, but it’s nothing compared to the pain faced by families who’ve endured the loss of a baby. I’ll carry their stories with me, mile after mile, to honour their babies and to bring hope to others.
Your support means the world to me—and to the countless families SANDS supports. A donation, no matter how big or small, can make an enormous impact.
SANDS is a lifeline for families navigating the unimaginable pain of losing a baby during pregnancy, at birth, or shortly afterward. They provide emotional and practical support to grieving families, fund vital research to help save lives, and strive to improve care for anyone affected by this tragedy.
Together, we can honour the babies who were taken too soon, bring hope to those left grieving, and ensure that no family walks this path alone.
