Story
The Leeds City College Team part of Luminate Education Group are raising vital funds for Children’s Heart Surgery Fund.
On Wednesday 12th July, the apprenticeship team will be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks and aim to complete in under 12 hours.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a 24-mile (38.6km) round trip route, and includes 1585m (5200ft) of ascent. The challenge includes the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres), usually in this order, and in under 12 hours.
We have chosen to fundraise for Children’s Heart Surgery Fund and would be grateful for any donations.
Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF) is a Leeds based charity founded in 1988 to support babies, children and adults living with congenital heart disease (CHD). CHSF are wholly funded by donations, so any donation no matter how small or large makes a huge difference.
A message from the team:
We are really excited to hike the Yorkshire Three Peaks whilst supporting Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF). Not only is this an opportunity to raise funds for a Leeds based charity it is also an opportunity for us to come together as a team and promote mental health and wellbeing. We wanted to support CHSF as their mission aligns with ours and they are doing great things in the community. CHSF are wholly funded by donations and if we can help in a small way, we know any donations will make a huge difference to the charity – Natalie Smith (Business Development Team Leader).
