Story

On Friday 25th September 2026, we will take on Cheshire’s Sandstone Trail, trekking a gruelling 34 miles in a single day.

This challenge is deeply personal for the BusinessComparison team, as we’re walking in memory of Freya, the daughter of our friend Paul. Last summer, we walked over 30 miles of the Wirral coastline to support the Jones family while Freya was undergoing treatment for a brain tumour. Very sadly, Freya passed away at just 9 years old.

Throughout that journey, The Joshua Tree charity provided incredible support to Paul, Freya and their family. This year, we want to give back to the charity that stood beside them.

This challenge will be a serious test of endurance. The BusinessComparison team will cover 34 miles along the entire Sandstone Trail. We’ll begin in Frodsham, just off the River Mersey, snake our way south through the heart of Cheshire, following the famous sandstone ridge, and finish in Whitchurch in the north of Shropshire. That means hours on our feet and navigating some tough terrain.

Taking part are Younes, Max, Steph, Joe, Phil, and Freya’s dad, Paul. We’re delighted to be joined by The Joshua Tree’s CEO, Rich Driffield, for this challenge, and grateful to have a few more supporters joining us along the way, with an amazing support crew helping us with transport, energy boosts, and the all-important spare socks.

We’ll be posting updates on our LinkedIn and Instagram pages so you can follow our progress.

The Joshua Tree supports families affected by childhood cancer and life-threatening conditions, offering practical help, emotional support, and a community when families need it most. Their support made a real difference to the Jones family during Freya’s illness, and that’s why this cause matters to us.

Your donation will help ensure other families benefit from the same vital support. If you’re able to donate even a small amount, it will be truly appreciated by the whole team. If you can’t donate, sharing this page will also go a long way to helping us reach our fundraising goals.
