Bust A Move - 10,000 steps per day in June

The Cancer Connect Centre provides information, guidance and practical support within a safe and confidential environment to individuals and their families who have been touched by cancer.

Story

We are walking 10,000 steps per day for the month of June to raise money for Cancer Connect NI to restock their bra store so that they can continue to provide an invaluable service to many women in Fermanagh and surrounding districts. Cancer Connect NI’s bra and swimwear fitting service offers a range of good quality, reasonably priced specialist lingerie. The charity offers the first bra free of charge and subsidises additional orders.

Cancer Connect NI’s bra fitting specialists provide support for women of all ages who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and have had breast surgery.

Advances in surgical techniques mean that many women no longer require a full mastectomy; however, this does not eliminate the need for professionally fitted lingerie. Those ladies who opt for reconstruction can also be accommodated.

Around 1,450 women in Northern Ireland are diagnosed with breast cancer every year – approximately 80% of these are over the age of 50.
