West Side Wanderers fundraiser for Whizz Kidz

Big Barratt Hike · 2 September 2023
Five members of the Senior Management Team at Barratt West London are challenging themselves to hike 25 miles along the Derbyshire-Staffordshire border in the Peak District to raise money for 2 incredible charities…and we need your help!
Craig Carson, Danny Masters, Danny Farenden, Piotr Prazych and Jim Morrison are thrilled at taking up the challenge and have said:
Craig Carson – “I am delighted to be getting my boots on to take part in the Big Barratt hike to conquer the 25 mile trail raising money in support of two fantastic organisations, The Outward Bound Trust and Whizz-Kidz. It is a great challenge and one I am confident the team and I can smash, I just hope I don’t need to physically carry any of them!”
Danny Farenden – “Next challenge accepted! After running two half marathons and not getting a single blister, I have now pushed myself to undertake a hiking challenge involving almost 150 colleagues from around the business in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. Its recommended to “Always hike with someone in worse shape than you. The bears out there will know” Looks like I won’t be coming back!”
Piotr Prazych – “It’s great pleasure to support such worthy causes like The Outward Bound Trust and Whizz-Kidz while taking on the 25 mile hike”.
Danny Masters – “Listening to the feedback from the teams that took part previously, it was clear that raising the money and doing the hike really does make a difference to the lives of the young people supported by the Outward Bound Trust and Whizzkids”.
Outward Bound was founded in 1941 to save young lives directly threatened in World War II. 80 years later they are still inspiring and empowering young people who leave their courses with the determination they need to overcome the challenges ahead of them and Whizz-Kidz help empower young wheelchair users by providing the wheelchairs, equipment, support and confidence-building experiences they need, and campaigning for a more inclusive society. Their vision in the next 2 years is to have a society where every young wheelchair user is mobile, enables and included. The Westside Wanderers are excited to take part and need your help to raise as much money as possible.
Although this page's charity is Whizz-Kidz, please note that all funds will be equally split between them and The Outward Bound Trust.
