Story

Thank you to everyone who has donated over the past year! We can’t thank you enough.

We are so close to reaching our goal with only £3.5K to go.

So this year the team and I are doing some wild runs, pushing our endurance to the test! Ever thought about running from Sheffield to Manchester???! Well that’s what we will be doing in October 2025

Every single penny matters and I will go to a great cause, there’s really not much more we can do to say thank you other than ensuring we always look after ourselves.

Both physically & mentally.

To date, 2025 running calendar so far looks like:

1. April: Ibiza 1/2 in Marathon (21.1KM)

2. April: Manchester Marathon (42KM)

3. June: Manchester Trail Scape Marathon (42KM)

4. September: The London Big Half (21KM)

5. October: Peaks Divide Ultra Marathon ONEr (76KM)

Just like running, we are taking one step or pound at a time. If you can spare money or sponsorship, we and the hospital will be extremely grateful for the support.

Same story. New challenges!

In October last year Prav contracted 2 variants of Malaria which resulted in 36.8% of his blood being infected – one of the highest that has ever been recorded in the Northwest and UK. Alongside this he also was fighting Covid and a rare condition called HLH, of which only a few cases were reported in the UK last year. This resulted in complete shutdown of his kidneys, liver, lungs and swelling on the brain.

Prav spent nearly two months in North Manchester General Hospital where he received life saving treatment from the incredible staff in the ICU and Infectious Diseases Ward as well as paramedics. Without their decisive action in diagnosing and treating this unique set of conditions it is safe to say that Prav would not be with us today.

During his time in Hospital doctors told Prav that if it wasn’t for his fitness gained from running that he wouldn’t have made it. With this in mind we’re running as many race events as possible this year including the London Marathon, the Barcelona Half-Marathon and the Great Manchester Run to celebrate how lucky we are to still have Prav with us today and to raise much needed money for the hospital that made this possible.

Prav will also be taking on these feats. A journey that will take him from not being able to walk in October to running 26.2 Miles just 6 months later. Running alongside him in London will be Byron, Orange, Andy and Pete and we’ll be joined in Barcelona by Emma, Harry, Seth, Mathew, Maddy, Cai and George. Along with the other races yet to be confirmed.

Any contribution you are able to make will be greatly appreciated by North Manchester General Hospital and will help them to continue their life saving work that ensures that as many people as possible are able to make it to the finish line.
