This June is Aphasia Awareness Month, and I'll be taking on The Big Step Challenge for Aphasia Support!

Aphasia is a language disorder which affects a person’s ability to speak, read, write and understand language - often a stroke or head injury. This challenge is all about raising funds and awareness to help create a world where every person with aphasia has access to support.

Please sponsor me throughout the month of June when I'll be conquering the 33,000 Big Step Challenge - where every step represents someone who has been newly diagnosed with aphasia this year. I will cover just under 14 miles throughout the month of June, walking approximately half a mile per day.

As many of my friends know, my sister suffered a stroke last year leaving her with severe Aphasia. I now volunteer with Aphasia Support to help others that suffer from this condition. I have seen first hand the difference that Aphasia Suppprt makes to those affected and their families.
