Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Up until last May, this trip was not on my bucket list. That all changed when we went away for a weekend with friends from university. One of our friends, Nigel, then asked me would I be interested doing the Mount Everest Base Camp (MEBC) trek. After half a minute consideration, I said yes I would. The idea of seeing Mount Everest (from a distance) excited me and I was surprised this was not already on my list!
I know it will be a challenge. I like challenges and pushing myself. We need to get out of our comforts zones to see what is possible. I think the trek will be good to slow down and help me refocus on what is important and get rid off things holding me back.
It will also be a physical and mental challenge, which I am looking forward to.
Disability Positive is a great local charity supporting people with lived experience of disability with their daily lives but also ensuring people and businesses understand the challenges needs and rights of disabled people, to promote a more inclusive culture. They were part of our networking group and I promised Lisa Cormack that I would raise funds for them once I decided to do MEBC trek.
