Story
On the 27th of January 2024 Charlie suffered a significant head injury whilst playing rugby, and unfortunately this has caused a case of severe retrograde amnesia.
This means he no longer remembers anything about his life from before the accident. It has been a challenging period, relearning everything from walking, reading, writing and learning about his life since.
Although Doctors expect Charlie to make a full recovery, and he is improving each day, the injuries to his brain have caused a number of different complications which he is battling really hard through.
The Matt Hampson foundation has been the only organisation that has been willing to help and support Charlie due to the complexity of his injuries, and supports so many amazing people through the toughest periods of their lives.
On the 4th of May, The University of Liverpool Men’s Rugby Union are hosting a sevens tournament to raise funds for the charity.
As well as Oakham Rugby Club where he played rugby on their presidents day on the 27th of April.
*Charlie is running the london landmarks half marathon on the 6th of April
