I love cats!! There, I said it - and before anyone gets upset, yes, dogs are amazing too, but cats often get a bad rap, so I’m here to advocate for the feline community.

I grew up with cats (see me and my rescue boys, Tiggy and Robbin, in the above photo) and so I know first-hand how much personality, tenderness, and trust they carry when they’re shown real care.

Now, some of you may be thinking “Cats? Do they even need protecting?” And yes, they can be independent menaces… but that doesn’t mean they don’t need our help.

Behind all that fur is an animal that deserves safety, shelter, love, and care (which they too often go without), even if they act like they’re the ones doing you a favour!

That’s why I’m fundraising for Cats Protection. They help more cats than any other organisation in the UK, and they work tirelessly to rescue, rehome, and advocate for cats who can’t fend for themselves (even if the cats never admit it).

By supporting my fundraiser, you’ll be helping to give more cats a safe home, proper care, and the chance to be part of a loving family, just like the rescue ones I grew up with.

To raise funds, I’m taking on my first half marathon (GNR) because if cats can leap five times their height, I can manage 13.1 miles for them.

A half marathon might not seem like much to some, but as someone who never saw myself as a ‘runner,’ I genuinely never thought I’d be capable of this.
