Story
We are running for St Nicholas Hospice in memory of Claire's dad and Cait's uncle, John Tuttle, and Cait's uncle Max Eason, some of the kindest men in the world, who received care from this incredible hospice.
Both men were wickedly witty and keen sportsmen. John loved golf, devoting his time to perfecting his handicap, and Max was a huge football fan, taking youth football clubs to Europe for tournaments and committing his life to supporting Ipswich Town FC.
John sadly passed away on 1st December 2024, aged 69, after a 3-year battle with pulmonary fibrosis. St Nicholas Hospice was incredible; visiting the house to help manage his symptoms and support his wife, Marcella, who cared for him in his final months.
Max sadly passed away on 8th March 2022, aged 78, after battling asbestosis. Nothing was too much trouble for St Nicholas Hospice, whether it was a visit to the home to support Max, or provide advice to Pam, his loving wife.
Thanks to their support, both John and Max were able to stay at home in their final days and pass peacefully, surrounded by their families.
2 weeks after running her first marathon, Cait will be lacing up again, this time for 10km, to honour them both and support the hospice that helped their families through such a difficult time.
This will be Claire's first-ever race, and she's ready to take on the course in memory of her father, John, and to say thank you to St Nicholas Hospice for their compassion, their care, and the difference they make to families like ours.
Every donation, no matter how small, helps them continue their vital work. Thank you for your support💜
