Caitlin, Mohaeed, and Louis walk 28K to help mend little hearts

Thames Path Ultra Challenge 2025 · 13 September 2025 to 14 September 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
It is estimated that as many as 15 million children die or remain severely ill every year through potentially treatable or preventable heart conditions. A child's chance of survival should not depend on where they are born, and we have the power to change this!
Chain of Hope addresses worldwide inequities in cardiac care by partnering with local medical teams to support the development of their pediatric cardiac programmes. Chain of Hope helps build cardiac centres, provides necessary medical equipment, and trains and supports medical professionals. Chain of Hope also helps the most at-risk infants and children receive emergency, life-saving heart surgeries outside their home countries.
By collaborating with medical teams around the world to build strong, sustainable pediatric cardiac programmes, Chain of Hope is helping to improve the chances of survival for children born in countries confronting severe structural impediments to cardiac care.
Last year, Caitlin and Mohaeed participated in the London Summer Walk Challenge and raised £1,703 for Chain of Hope by walking 25K! Walking for 5 hours in the rain was completely worth it, knowing that we had brought together our friends, families, and colleagues to support the important work done by Chain of Hope.
This year, we are participating in a challenge that will take us along 28K of the beautiful Thames Path. And we will be joined by Caitlin's dad, Louis, who has promised he will not slow us down!
We believe that a better future for children is possible, and we thank you for your support as we walk further to fundraise even more for Chain of Hope this year!
With love and gratitude,
Caitlin, Mohaeed, and Louis
