Story

Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page and supporting our fundraising for the Moobs and Boobs Appeal as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

This October, the Warrington, Halton, St Helens and Knowsley Breast Screening Service team will be taking on a series of fundraising activities to raise money for local breast cancer care – with our main challenge being an incredible 30-mile sponsored walk!

On Saturday 18 October 2025, we’ll be walking to and from all our breast screening sites in Runcorn, St Helens and Warrington – a journey expected to take around 13 hours to complete. It’s a big challenge, but every step will help make a difference for the patients and families we care for.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. Around 56,000 women and 400 men are diagnosed each year and breast screening helps save approximately 1,300 lives annually through early detection and treatment.

All money raised will go towards Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals Charity’s Moobs and Boobs Appeal. The appeal raises funds for all things breast cancer care, every donation helps us improve patient experiences, from screening and assessments through to treatment and recovery.

Throughout the month, we’ll also be hosting fun community activities including a Strictly sweep, tombolas and awareness events promoting breast screening, self-examination and early detection.

We’re so grateful for any support you can give.

Thank you,

Caitlin and the Breast Screening Team
