Story
We are taking part in the Walk of Hope by walking part of the South West Coast Path in September to raise money for Brain Tumour Research in honour of my lovely Dad Nigel. Walk of Hope is the Brain Tumour Research annual national event to raise money to bring hope to brain tumour patients and their families.
In July 2024 our whole world changed forever when my Dad was given a diagnosis of grade 4 glioblastoma, the most aggressive type of primary brain tumour in adults. Last year he underwent brain surgery, intensive radiotherapy and chemotherapy but sadly the tumour has now returned in another location of the brain. He has just bravely gone through a second craniotomy which he is recovering from, and we are waiting to see what further treatment may be available. He has faced this whole journey with incredible strength, determination and courage.
Brain tumours remain one of the most underfunded areas of cancer research, yet they devastate so many families. One in three people in the UK knows someone affected by a brain tumour and yet the treatment for GBM has not advanced in 20+ years.
Our aim is to raise £2000 to support essential research and provide hope for families like ours. We would be so grateful for any support, whether through donations or sharing this page to help raise vital funds for brain tumour research.
