The Cali 1.5 dead hang relay!

Lula Samuels is raising money for Hft
The 1.5 Christmas Challenge
Campaign by Hft (RCN 313069)
There are 1.5 million people in the UK with a learning disability. This Christmas, we’re asking you to choose a fun and meaningful challenge inspired by the number 1.5 and help raise vital funds to support them.

Story

There are 1.5 million people in the UK with a learning disability. To support the national charity, Hft, the University of Bristol Calisthenics Society is taking on a challenge!

As a committee, we are taking on a 1.5-hour deadhang challenge! If you didn't know, a deadhang is when you hang suspended from a bar, as if you were about to do a pull-up. It is a deceivingly difficult test of muscular endurance and grip strength.

As a committee of around 10/12 people, we are going to train to deadhang as a group for 1.5 hours, during which at least one committee member has to be suspended from the bar at any point.

Without funding, learning disabled adults do not have the chance to access opportunities that enable and empower them to be seen, heard, and to live the best lives possible.

As a society dedicated to individual strength and bodily control, we are connected to Hft's mission to support disabled adults, helping them to live their best, and most independent lives.
