At Calilo Foundation, our mission has always been rooted in compassion, community, and creating meaningful change. This April, we are proud to launch a powerful new initiative in support of Save the Children UK — a 280-kilometer charity walk along the historic Camino de Santiago.

To show our unwavering commitment to this cause two founding members of the Calilo Foundation, I, Melissa Michalopoulou and my twin sister, Aria Michalopoulou, will be joined by three of our closest friends — Takis Koutsodaskalos, Ben Stephenson, and Katerina Papadopoulou — as we take on this journey together.

The five of us will fly in from different parts of Europe and meet in Portugal, where we will begin the pilgrimage route toward Spain. We will walk for 11 days, alternating our daily distances depending on terrain and destination, covering a total of 280 kilometers. Our walk will begin on April 18th and conclude on April 28th, 2025.

We chose this walk because we want to send a powerful message of solidarity and support. It is an extremely demanding journey — both physically and emotionally— and through it, we hope to demonstrate our true intention to stand beside all children who are struggling. We want to inspire those who wish to help, encourage meaningful action, and promote charitable engagement in the most sincere and impactful way.

In our commitment to doubling the impact, the Calilo Foundation will match the total amount raised during this campaign. This means that for every donation made, we will contribute an equal amount, amplifying the support for Save the Children UK’s vital work. Your generosity will have twice the impact in helping vulnerable children.

All funds raised through this campaign will go directly to Save the Children UK, one of the world’s leading independent organizations for children. For over 100 years, Save the Children has been working in the hardest-to-reach places, responding to emergencies and fighting for children’s rights.

Their work spans over 100 countries, where they provide life-saving assistance, promote access to education, improve maternal and child healthcare, fight child poverty, and protect children from exploitation, conflict, and abuse. Whether it’s offering urgent aid to children in war zones like Ukraine and Gaza, supporting education in sub-Saharan Africa, or responding to climate-related disasters in Asia and Latin America — Save the Children’s impact is truly global.
