Story

We never imagined we’d be asking this again… ❤️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Last year, thanks to the unbelievable kindness of our family, friends, colleagues and even complete strangers, we raised an absolutely staggering amount for CHAS. We were blown away — properly speechless.

You didn’t just support us — you smashed it. You gave generously, shared our page, cheered us on, and helped turn one marathon into something far bigger than we ever imagined. We know many of you gave more than once, and more than you probably planned to, and we will never forget that.

That money has already helped many families across Scotland, giving them care, comfort, and precious support when they needed it most.

So yes… asking again feels a bit cheeky.

But after a lot of thought, we’ve decided to take on one final fundraising challenge together.

This year, we’ll once again be on the London Marathon start line, running side by side for a charity that has changed our family’s life in ways we could never fully put into words. We know it is a BIG target and we will come up with some creative ways to reach it.

CHAS has been with us since Calla’s earliest days. They were there when she spent months in intensive care. They gave us the precious memory of her first day outside hospital. They’ve supported our whole family through the highs, the heartbreaks and everything in between. When Lynne was diagnosed with cancer, they were there then too.

They still are!

This isn’t about chasing another medal or ticking off another marathon. Although, to be fair, after last year’s finish line I was absolutely, categorically, never planning to run again. I crossed that line thinking I was done — finished, retired, trainers hung up forever.

And yet here we are, because Ali has now bought some very fancy racing shoes for the main event — after much deliberation, because he is, as we all know, tight — and he is determined to get his money’s worth out of them. So if nothing else, we may as well make sure those shoes have a proper story to tell.

This one is about saying thank you.

One last time.

If you’ve already supported us before, please don’t feel under any pressure to donate again. Your kindness last year meant the world to us, and what you helped us raise was truly extraordinary.

But if you’re able to spare the price of a coffee, a pint, or anything at all, every penny will help CHAS continue supporting families like ours when they need it most.

If donating isn’t possible, we’d be just as grateful if you could share our page. Every share helps us reach someone new.

This is very much the sequel nobody asked for — same cast, slightly worse plot, and a lot of determination. But unlike most sequels, this one is worth the ticket price, because every step is for CHAS and every penny helps families who need them most.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for everything you’ve already done for our family.

Let’s make this one last marathon count. 💛
