People affected by prostate cancer need breakthrough treatments. Research is the only way to turn this hope into reality. Combining patient stories and scientific expertise, we fund projects that have a real impact, reducing side-effects, cutting treatment costs and ultimately improving outcomes.

Story

On Saturday 5th April I will embark on a 300km ultra following the Wainwright's Coast to Coast route from St Bees to Robin Hood's Bay.

While the challenge is of a personal one, I want to hopefully use it to make a difference to other too.

There are more than 385,000 new cancer cases in the UK every year, two of those cases were very close to me, my parents. In 2012 my mam was diagnosed with kidney cancer, and more recently in 2024 my dad with prostate cancer. Both underwent succesful treatment, which is down to the extensive research and developments in cancer treatments. Which is why I have chosen to fundraise for these charities.

Prostate Cancer Research are dedicated to creating brand new prostate cancer treatments. Prostate cancer is now the most diagnosed cancer in the UK and 11,500 men die from the disease every year. People affected by prostate cancer need breakthrough treatments, and research is the only way to turn this hope into reality.

Their vision is clear; a world where people are free from the impact of prostate cancer. I’m part of #TeamPCR because I share this vision. Will you help me support their research?
