300km Northern Traverse · 5 April 2025
On Saturday 5th April I will embark on a 300km ultra following the Wainwright's Coast to Coast route from St Bees to Robin Hood's Bay.
While the challenge is of a personal one, I want to hopefully use it to make a difference to other too.
There are more than 385,000 new cancer cases in the UK every year, two of those cases were very close to me, my parents. In 2012 my mam was diagnosed with kidney cancer, and more recently in 2024 my dad with prostate cancer. Both underwent succesful treatment, which is down to the extensive research and developments in cancer treatments. Which is why I have chosen to fundraise for these charities.
Kidney Cancer UK is the UK’s leading specialist kidney cancer charity here to listen, inform & support kidney cancer patients carers and their families.
Amongst the many things we do the vital funds raised by your generous fundraising events go towards raising awareness of the disease, highlighting the importance of early diagnosis and supporting research into of a disease that sees over 12,500 diagnoses every year and almost 5,000 people lose their lives. This has to stop.
Thank you for your support.
