Callum Ellis is raising money for Garden House Hospice

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Garden House Hospice Care offers care and support to patients and their families. As a registered charity the hospice is dependent on donations so hospice care can be offered through in-patient admissions, day hospice, hospice at home, out-patients clinics and the family support team.

Story

At Garden House Hospice, they believe that every moment matters, especially for those facing life-limiting illnesses. Their dedicated team provides specialist palliative care to patients, families, and carers, ensuring they receive the support they need in the comfort of their own homes or chosen settings.

They strive to enhance the quality of life for those they serve, offering compassionate care without discrimination. As I prepare to run the London Marathon on April 26, 2026, I am reminded of the incredible impact that their work has on individuals and families during their most challenging times. Each step I take will symbolize their commitment to providing hope and dignity to those in need.

However, I cannot do this alone. Your support is crucial in helping me reach my target of £2,500.

In 1994, I was still being cradled in the arms of a beloved family member when that dreaded C word appeared. The dedication from Garden House Hospice to give my family member supportive and specialist care has forever been held in our hearts.

Throughout the years, a cherished figure within our community, my dad, would often make donations to Garden House Hospice in memory of his mother. From money to toys for families going through their worst times, nothing was ever too much.

Sadly, a tragic event occurred in 2009 that ripped through not just our family but friends and the community as well. We asked all who wished to donate flowers to instead donate to Garden House Hospice because it would be put to better use.

In June 2020, we lost an all-time great Sergeant who provided unwavering support and guidance. Without her care, I would not be standing in the position of where I am today. Garden House Hospice performed remarkably through COVID-19 to make the situation as easy as it possibly could for her family.

Garden House Hospice has been a charity close to our family's heart for many years. They have supported us and our friends' families through some of the worst times of our lives.

I invite you to join me on this journey. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of many who rely on Garden House Hospice for care and support. Please consider donating today and help us continue their mission of compassion and excellence. This is for all those who have lost loved ones.

So Nan, Dad, Leah, this is for you
