Story
Hi there and welcome to my JustGiving page, my brother Jamie and I are running the 2026 London Marathon for Cure Parkinson’s & Parkinson’s UK, two charities very close to our hearts since our mother Sally’s diagnosis back in March 2020, just as the COVID Pandemic was unfolding around the World.
Mum took the words of her consultant quite literally when he suggested that she should “keep moving” to try and manage and delay the onset of Parkinsons 40+ symptoms and, with the world locking down was striding out for her mandated daily exercise like her life depended on it, which it sort of did!
Ever resourceful, in the intervening 5 years this habit has developed and grown into a fundraising machine, with mum completing three 300+km charity walks (along Hadrian’s Wall, Offa’s Dyke & Wainwright’s Coast to Coast) and raising tens of thousands of pounds in the process, along with appearing at and organising countless other events up and down the country.
Each of these expeditions is not only a physically exhausting undertaking but takes months of planning, preparation & organisation, which is why next year Jim & I want to shoulder some of that burden whilst hopefully (with your help!) raising more money for these fantastic causes!
Any donation, large or small is gratefully received and will help Cure Parkinson’s to fund potentially lifechanging research to help mum and the millions of people around the world who suffer with this awful disease. Liam & Noel were wrong; this time Sally can’t wait!!
Please do also take some time to visit Jamie’s page at the link below to donate and learn about the good work being done by Parkinson’s UK:

If you’re still reading then thank you for making it this far, mum has been an inspiration for as long as I can remember and has given so much to get Jim & I where we are today, thank you for doing your bit to help us say thank you to such a wonderful woman.
