Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

On Good Friday(April 18th), I’ll be taking part in the Victoria Park Half Marathon in memory of my amazing Grandad Derek (or Degs as he was better known), who sadly passed away on October 6th, 2024, after battling Parkinson’s disease.

Grandad was a kind, strong, and loving person who brought so much joy to everyone around him. Watching him face Parkinson’s with courage and resilience was both inspiring and heartbreaking. Now, I want to honour his memory and help others facing this cruel disease by raising funds for Parkinson’s UK.

Parkinson’s is a progressive condition that affects so many people and their families. The funds raised will go directly toward vital research, support services, and resources for those living with Parkinson’s, with the hope of one day finding a cure.

Every step I take during the 13.1 miles will be for Grandad, and for all those affected by this disease. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world to me and make a real difference.

Thank you so much for your support.
