Story
In November 2024, Callum was rushed from Russell's Hall hospital to the QE for emergency brain surgery, after the discovery of two masses on the brain. After a biopsy was done these masses turned out to be a germinoma tumour.
A germinoma is a type of germ cell tumour that forms in the brain. These tumours are most commonly diagnosed in children, teens, and young adults. Germinomas typically develop in the pineal region (near the pineal gland) or the suprasellar region (near the pituitary gland)
Callum's fight began straight away, with starting his first round of chemotherapy just before Christmas. We are so proud of how well Callum has taken to the treatment so far. After his four rounds of Chemo, Callum will be going to Manchester to finish his fight with 5 weeks worth of proton radiotherapy at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.
After a lot of thought and research, Callum has chosen The Brain Tumour Charity to raise money for. This charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, we're moving further, faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour.
Throughout the year we hope to raise money through various activities such as walks/runs, hiking and other fun fundraising events.
Any donation is much appreciated!
Thank you for all the support and love!
