Story
In 2024, I l began hiking because I’d hit rock bottom. I had just left the acting world after a sever injury and my mental health was in pieces. I headed home to see my parents, and found myself on the floor in a ball unable to move or do anything at all other than cry and feel like there was no way out.
In this time I found CALMS online resources and it genuinely helped me make the next steps of asking for help, going to the doctors. He told me that “regular exercise after 3 months does the same thing as antidepressants” and this is where I began hiking, taking myself out into nature to help my head.
I began sharing my hiking routes online and helping others to find the healing power of getting out in nature! It’s grew so much that I now run an entire community, taking thousands of people out of the city and getting them connected with nature and one another!
Im raising money for CALM as they were part of the journey that saved me, and I want to give back so any help is massively appreciated, and you never realised the small steps that can literally save a life!
We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We’ve got loads of tools and resources to help people find the support they need, including a life-saving helpline for people who can’t see a way forward, have lost someone to suicide, or are worried about their friends or loved ones.
£12.20 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.
