Story
Thanks for stopping by my page...
I've coached countless players in my 12 year career so far, a lot of them from backgrounds where not much has gone their way. A supportive academy with the right infrastructure can let players of all ages walk away with the confidence, discipline, and the belief that they can actually make something of themselves. That's one of the main reasons I continue to coach and when I was given to opportunity to do this with the SFA in Rwanda it is something I knew I'd love to be a part of.
This October, I'm travelling there to do exactly that, somewhere that the opportunity will help to transform countless lives.
Working alongside the Scottish FA, I'll be helping to establish a football academy that gives young people in Rwanda access to proper coaching, education, and - just as importantly - a safe place to grow, on and off the pitch.
While I'm there, I'll be:
⚽ Delivering coaching sessions to local players
📚 Supporting and training local coaches, so the work continues long after I've left
🏫 Helping lay the foundations of a sustainable academy
🤝 Connecting with the community through the game we all love
The part that matters most to me is that this lasts. I'm not flying out, running a few sessions, and coming home. The whole point is to build something that stands on its own: coaches who can coach, kids who keep playing, a programme that's still going strong in five years.
Every penny raised goes directly toward making that happen - travel and accommodation to get me there, equipment and resources for the academy, and ongoing support for the community programmes we're helping to set up.
Anyone who knows me knows how much I care about giving kids a chance through football especially Goalkeepers. This is my opportunity to take that beyond Scotland and put it to work where it can genuinely change lives. No donation is too small - whatever you can spare makes a real difference, and I'm grateful for every bit of it.
Here's what your donation could do:
£5 - a set of training bibs
£10 - a set of balls
£25 - a team's equipment for a full year
£50 - a month of pitch time for a group of young players
£100 - training and kit for a local coach, so the work keeps going after we leave
£250 - enough to run a whole age group for a full year
I appreciate you taking the time to read and I'd greatly appreciate any donation that you can afford. If you want to see how I get on you can follow me on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and LinkiedIn)
Who knows... you might just be helping create a future Premier League Rwandan Goalkeeper!
