In June I will attempt to walk/run the Coast to Coast route - 192 miles from the Irish Sea to the North Sea, through the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, and North York Moors. Most people achieve this in 12 to 15 days; I am aiming for 7 days, self supported, carrying all my kit. This will equal an average of 27.4 miles per day, just over a marathon, for 7 days.

I will be raising money for both Breast Cancer Now and the Naval Children’s Charity. These excellent charities have provided so much support over the last few months so please donate generously if you can. Thank you.

Breast Cancer Now is a great charity who have invested hundreds of millions of pounds in world-class science, to discover how breast cancer grows and spreads. They are finding ways to detect it earlier, and developing new and better ways to treat it. Their vision is that by 2050, everyone with breast cancer will live and live well.

The Naval Children’s Charity believes that to be the child of someone who is, or has been, in the Naval Service should be a positive and enhancing experience – something to be borne with pride. For those children where life is more difficult, we are there to help. They have been so generous to our family to keep life steady through a difficult time.
