Calum's fundraiser for City Kids Surfing

Calum Magnum Franklin is raising money for City Kids Surfing

24 hour Shepperton Open water swim · 7 June 2025

City Kids Surfing is a project set up to connect the inspirational and restorative power of the ocean with those who have never experienced it. We work with children from inner city life and introduce them to the beauty of our British coastal waters through surfing.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page! On the weekend of June 7th and 8th, I will be participating in the 24 hour Shepperton Open Water Swim alongside two friends. This event typically involves teams of eight swimming in a relay for three hours each, but we have decided to take on the challenge as a team of three, which means we will each swim for eight rough hours!

This includes swimming through the night, navigating in the dark waters. We are training hard because we know that this is no small feat, especially as we are no longer spring chickens. However, we all love a good challenge and are committed to pushing our limits for a great cause.

I am raising funds for City Kids Surfing, an amazing charity that provides opportunities for children from inner cities who may not otherwise have the chance to experience the ocean. They teach these kids how to surf and swim, offering them experiences that many of us take for granted. I want to raise as much money as possible—my target is £3,000—so please consider donating whatever you can spare. Just imagine us pushing through hour number eight! Your support means everything!
