Dear friend and supporter,
I am taking part in various running and walking events for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation (MNDF) in 2026.
The MNDF's aim is "We are My Name'5 Doddie Foundation and we're absolutely committed to our goal: A World Free of MND. We will leave no stone unturned in the relentless pursuit of this goal as we fund, guide and enable the smartest, most efficient MND research to catalyse a cure for motor neuron disease.
My 'My Name'5 Doddie Foundation' events are (minimum of 5):
28/02- Troon Parkrun
25/04- Glasgow Kiltwalk Big Stroll (14.6 miles)
23/05- Edinburgh Marathon Festival 5K
31/05- Chariots Beach Race 5K
13/09- Edinburgh Kiltwalk Big Stroll (11.2 miles)

MND is a disease which affects the motor neurons of the nervous system. It is life shortening and mostly progresses rapidly. MND damages and attacks the nerves, meaning that messages being sent from the brain to the muscles no longer work. MND can lead to weakness in the muscles and eventually paralysis. Although it does not usually affect the senses. Unfortunately, 1/3 of people pass away to MND within a year and more than 1/2 within two years of diagnosis. MND affects people from all walks of life and in different ways. It may affect everyday functions such as being able to speak, dress, drink, eat and simply breathe.
I formerly fundraised for MND Scotland however I would now like to focus more specifically on funding MND research. I want to keep my 9 year effort for the MND community going and to move onto my next chapter with the MNDF. I have also fundraised for other Neurodegenerative diseases, terminal diseases and mental health charities during this time.
Please donate generously as I have seen the catastrophic impact that MND can have on someone's family or wider social network. This challenge is in memory of my friend Mr. Donald Grewar.
