CULES' Oedipus! fundraiser for Motor Neurone Disease Association

Cambridge Light Entertainment Society is raising money for Motor Neurone Disease Association

Theatre Show · 15 March 2026

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

Cambridge University Light Entertainment Society is delighted to announce our Michaelmas show Oedipus!, with two performances on Sunday 15th and Monday 16th March!

The year is 425 BCE, and the great tragedian Sophocles is determined to win the theatre contest at the City Dionysia. Accompanied by a certain Austrian Psychologist, who’s more than eager to use the play to develop some new wildly inaccurate theories, he presents Oedipus Rex: The story of one man’s tragic end aided by an ordeal concerning his in laws, ASNaCs, singing puppets, terrible parodies of cult classic noughties movies and an identity crisis.

This term we're fundraising for Motor Neurone Disease Association, a charity that supports people with motor neurone disease, campaigns for better care and funds ground-breaking research.

Thank you for your support!
