Story

🚴‍♀️ Cambridge to Bruges 2026 – Team Fundraising Page

9–11 July 2026 • ~320km • Supporting West Hers Hospital and West Suffolk Hospital via My WiSH Charity (Maternity & Bereavement)

In July 2026, our team will be taking on a meaningful three‑day cycling challenge from Cambridge to Bruges, around 320km of countryside, coastlines and cross‑border riding, all in support of My WiSH Charity and the vital maternity and bereavement services at West Suffolk Hospital.

This ride is part of Hudson’s Little Heart created in memory of a much‑loved baby boy, Hudson Lawson, whose story has inspired many of us to come together, push ourselves and raise funds that will directly support families experiencing pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

💛 Why We’re Riding

Across our team, we’ve seen how deeply pregnancy and baby loss affects families. A member of our Cycle4Good family, Rhiannon, received extraordinary compassion from the maternity and bereavement teams at West Suffolk Hospital team when she and her partner, Mike, lost their son Hudson. They provided not only medical care, but also emotional support, memory‑making and space for them to spend precious time with their baby.

Much of this support is not funded by the NHS. Items such as memory boxes, keepsakes, comfort items for families and the small but significant touches that make the worst moments a little gentler rely entirely on charitable donations.

My WiSH currently funds memory boxes for around 75 families each year, at a cost of approximately £2,600 annually. These boxes help parents hold onto treasured moments and are an important part of the bereavement pathway.

Our goal is to raise enough to ensure these memory boxes and other bereavement resources continue to be available for every family who needs them.

💛 Support for Watford Hospital

We also want to acknowledge the incredible support we’ve received from as a family from Watford FC, our lifelong family football club. Their kindness and commitment have meant a great deal, and in recognition of that, our team will also be making a donation to support the equivalent maternity and bereavement services at Watford General Hospital.

You can choose to donate to either My Wish or West Herts. Use this page for West Herts and the details for the My Wish page are below.
