Cameron's fundraiser for Derby County Community Trust

Cameron Cooke is raising money for Derby County Community Trust

Rams in Kenya '25 · 1 June 2025

An exciting trip to Kenya in 2025 to spend time volunteering at schools in a developing areas of the country, in partnership with Derby County Community Trust.

Story

Hi all,

Next year in may I am planning on heading to Kenya with the derby county community trust for a brilliant project called 'Rams in Kenya 2025'. To raise money for this (along with other things) myself and my dad will be walking from Pride Park to The Hawthorns to watch West Brom vs Derby. This 40 mile walk will take place over the 19th-21st weekend in April and hopefully end in 3 points at the game.

on this trip I will spend 2 weeks in a poor suburb of Nakuru which is in the west of the country of Kenya. Children here are living in very deprived areas which lack the hygiene and education that every child deserves.

The 'Rams in Kenya' annual trips are fantastic charity projects where volunteers like myself (hopefully!) are able to change the lives of these children and families. In the past trips volunteers have done many things which have greatly improved life for these children, these include: Safer and more hygienic toilets being built, perimeter walls for the safety as well as many other incredible things.

I plan to go and feel like I've had an impact, whether that is helping with the construction and up keep of the school grounds or trying my best to teach them new skills, sports and knowledge which could hopefully help them in the long run.

Any donation of any size would be greatly appreciated to help me begin my eye-opening journey.

P.S if you have any spare derby shirts for me to take then please reach out to me as I've heard they are very big derby fans.
