Story
In Reading and the surrounding areas, there are approximately 100,000 boys. By the time these boys reach the age of 15, roughly 1 in 2 will not be living with both parents. The vast majority will be living with their mother, which often leads to a loss of contact with their father.
These boys face far more challenges than their peers who grow up in two-parent households. Unemployment, academic failure, depression, chronic illness, anxiety, and poverty are all significantly more likely for those who grow up without a father figure. This is a crisis that we cannot ignore.
On Father's Day weekend in 2025, a brave group of individuals will embark on the "100KM Thames Path Challenge," walking through the heart of Reading in just 24 hours. Their ultimate goal is to raise £100,000 to help bring an end to this fatherless crisis and provide support for those affected.
We invite you to join us in this vital mission by supporting Chapter2 as we strive to write hope into the stories of these boys. Your contribution can make a real difference in their lives and help pave the way for a brighter future.
